Kate is the world’s leading authority in ‘Networkology’ – the science behind the growth of workplace employee networks/resource groups. Known for her work with disability networks, she set up a hub of best practice in running disabled employee networks and published the first ‘how to guide’ in 2009.

She now works with 300 plus UK employers many of whom are running the highly successful disability networks.

In October 2015, she founded PurpleSpace (www.purplespace.org) – the world’s first professional development hub for disabled employee networks, networks which together have the potential to reach some 850,000 disabled employees from a wide range of private and public sector organisations.

Kate published her book ‘Secrets & Big News’ in 2014. Based on a groundbreaking survey of some 2,511 disabled employees from 55 employers, it explores what it really ‘feels’ like to be asked to ‘disclose’ one’s disability and what employers can do to help people be themselves.

In 2007, Kate was awarded an OBE for services to disabled people.
