Rachael is about to start a Masters in Business Administration at Stanford University. In 2016 she founded #HackOnWheels, a user led tech start up, that is using user innovation, open source design and distributed manufacturing to give wheelchair users greater choice and control while reducing the cost of fully customised wheelchairs.

Before moving into tech, Rachael worked in central government where she led the Strengthening Disabled People’s User Led Organisations Programme, which built the capacity of social care not-for-profits that were led or controlled by disabled people. Prior to this she worked in Local Government and the National Health Service as Commissioner of services for disabled children and young people.

Rachael has significant non-executive experience as the Vice Chair of Scope, the disability charity and as a Director of the Social Care Institute for Excellence, the agency responsible for driving improvement across the sector and Community Integrated Care, a large UK social care provider.
